Happy Birthday, Mitch Epstein

We remember seeing "Chalmette Battlefield, Louisiana 1976" at Marianne Boesky, in a group show about 1970s color photography. We agreed that it was riveting and it is still one of our all-time favorites.

'"Untitled, New York" from The City, 1998' seems like a variation.

I remember this show. Are the photos from the 70's are made to look like the 70's? I remember really enjoying too.

I think they were actually photographed in the 1970s. He was in that show alongside Nan Goldin, Mary Ellen Mark, Eggleston, and others.
